2025’s Top Rated Weighted Blankets – A Buyer’s Guide
Don't buy a weighted blanket until you read this!
Choosing the right bedding and getting a good night's sleep relies on three key points: Comfort, temperature control, and value for money.
When it comes to a weighted blanket, there are thousands of options on the market. For most people, it’s easy to purchase the first or cheapest one they see, which makes sense because of the price or lack of knowledge. We investigate some of the top bedding companies on the market in 2025 and find out how they're changing the sleep industry with their weighted blankets!
Weighted blankets are continuing to gain popularity because of their superior sleep and health benefits. The majority of weighted blankets come with hefty price tags because of their quality, however, we discovered the company 'Cosy House Collection' that has been creating waves on social media and in the news with their high-quality Weighted Blanket that comes with a ridiculously low price tag!
Doctors say that we get the deepest, healthiest sleep when our bodies are totally relaxed. There's nothing worse than tossing and turning in bed, unable to get comfortable, or falling into much-needed rest.
Finally – you’ll want a weighted blanket that is hypoallergenic and stays fresh. We've found that cotton isn’t very good at being either of these things and tends to hold irritants until it’s washed! This is what makes it a bad choice for a weighted blanket. Unless your bedding is being washed daily, you’re likely suffering while you sleep and just don’t know it.
It can be difficult to know which are the best weighted blankets on the market. That's why Cosy Living has compiled months of research about this emerging category. We’ll show you what to look for and what to avoid when picking your perfect weighted blanket, and how it can help transform your sleep.
Benefits of a Restful Sleep:
Helps you maintain weight[1,2,3]
- Better Energy Control
- Maintain Correct Hormone Levels
Cognitive Health[4]
- Boosts Memory
- Enhances Processing Speed
Cardiovascular Health[5,6]
- Aids Cardiovascular Function
- Helps Maintain Normal Blood Flow
Stronger immune system[7,8]
- Bolsters Immune System
- Helps to fight off illness & infection
What You Need In The Perfect Weighted Blanket
Taking all of the healthful attributes listed above into consideration, we've boiled down a list of four key characteristics you should always look for in a great weighted blanket. Try to seek out all of these qualities:
The problem with most weighted blankets on the market is that they have little to no temperature regulation and temperature changes.
Heavy, cotton weighted blankets can work great during the winter months, but they'll leave you overheated and sweaty the rest of the year.
Bamboo viscose is naturally temperature-regulating—wicking away moisture—allowing you to stay cool and dry while snuggling under your weighted blanket.
Ideal Weight
When it comes to weighted blankets, it’s important to pick the right weight for you. Too heavy, and you will be hot and restricted. Too light, and you won’t reap the benefits of the deep-touch technology offered by a weighted blanket.
Softness & Comfort
The best weighted blankets don’t scratch and pull at your skin during use. In fact, bamboo viscose weighted blankets are known for their silky soft feel and whisper-quiet while offering additional features.
Hypoallergenic & Stays Fresh
Traditional weighted blankets are a breeding ground for unwanted irritants and common household non-living allergens, in addition to causing bad odors and stains. Bamboo viscose naturally has hypoallergenic properties. The combined benefits of bamboo viscose allow your blanket to stay fresher, for longer (we found that cleanliness lasts about 2x as long compared to other traditional weighted blankets)
What To Avoid When Buying Weighted Blankets
A High Thread Count Isn't Always Better
The higher the thread count, the better the bedding, right? Actually, that is false — we were shocked to discover this, too! Thread count was originally meant to measure cotton sheets, and is actually considered to be an outdated form of measurement for gauging bedding quality. Today, the most popular method for measuring sheets is by GSM, or, grams per square meter.
Higher thread count bedding also means a tighter weave, causing them to lose any benefit of cooling and breathing.
Flame Retardants
Does your old mattress protector say ‘flame retardant’? You might think this is a highlight, but it actually might be doing more harm than good. Studies have shown that both animals and humans exposed to flame retardants, scientifically called polybrominated diphenyl ethers, or PBDEs, can lead to memory and learning issues, thyroid problems, delayed development, lower IQ, and decreased fertility. Some have even been linked to cancer![9]
It is extremely important to read the labels and scrutinize any product that claims to be flame retardant. Your health may depend on it.

Casper Sleep has been an extremely popular choice for mattresses in the last few years. But does their expertise transfer to weighted blankets?
Made of breathable cotton, this blanket boasts thousands of small glass beads, evenly distributed and sewn in with a quilted pattern. A huge plus for the Casper Sleep Weighted Blanket is that there are a variety of weights offered so you can choose what’s best for you.
However, there are a few cons. This blanket is at least $40 more than the Cosy House weighted blanket with fewer features. In fact, some users noted that this blanket was difficult to clean as it’s not washing machine safe. Despite the size variety, there is only one size of blanket which may be too small for some. There is also only a 1-year warranty, which in comparison to the Cosy House lifetime warranty, is significantly shorter.

Gravity Z has been producing top-of-the-line weighted blankets since their successful Kickstarter in 2017. They were even TIME Magazine’s Best Invention of 2018.
The pros are high with the Gravity Z Weighted Blanket. Its weight and size varieties mean finding the perfect fit for you or your loved ones is much easier. The removable cover allows for protection for the blanket, as well as easy cleaning. Gravity Z also boasts that their blanket is breathable, keeping you cool in spite of the weight.
There are few cons to this product. However, we found they not only have a 30-day return policy, but offer no warranty. Weighted blankets are a unique product and as such, we would expect a company to give you protection in the event that something happened. Unfortunately that is not the case with Gravity Z.

The Bottom Line
We were excited to review the chiliBLANKET Weighted Blanket, after seeing rave reviews online. This was by far one of the most unique blankets we have come across in our search for the best.
So, what makes this weighted blanket unique? In addition to a washable cover, free returns, and a 90-night trial, this blanket comes with temperature control. That’s right, literal temperature control. With the push of a button, this blanket heats and cools to your liking using a control unit that activates the water inside.
As amazing and too good to be true as this system seems, there are a few important things to keep in mind. First of all, this weighted blanket is ridiculously expensive. The blanket alone is $299, going up $200 as you add the cooling unit and other features. While you get what you pay for, this is not a budget-friendly option.
In addition to this, there is a single blanket size offered. If you’re looking for larger or smaller than 81”x45”, you’ll be out of luck. Be aware that the warranty is limited to the first two years. After that, if anything breaks or becomes damaged, you’re on your own.
Overall, this blanket has stellar reviews and incredible features. That being said, this is not a budget-friendly option. If you’re looking to spend less, consider the Cosy House Weighted Blanket which naturally regulates temperature.

- Variety of sizes, colors, and weights

The Bottom Line
The Zobi Weighted Blanket is 100% cotton, extremely soft, and has a sophisticated look. However, it doesn’t possess all the features we’ve come to love with the Cosy House Collection Weighted Blanket (temperature regulation).
This weighted blanket features a wide range of sizes, colors, and weights, ensuring that there’s a blanket for everyone. It is also hypoallergenic, staying fresher for longer. With a machine washable cover, you can ensure that your blanket is fresh every time you use it.
However, despite these pros, there are cons to be considered. This blanket is also significantly more expensive than the top products on our list. In addition, customers have reported their blankets to be heavier than expected. One user even claimed his blanket was 29 lbs, 9 more than the mere 20 lbs he requested. Customer reports also differ from the companies on coolness, with many saying they felt too hot under the blanket.
Overall, this is a very nice weighted blanket, but in our opinion, a little pricey for what is offered.
